Chapter Formatter

Paste rough chapter notes — bullets, numbers, timestamps anywhere in the line — and get clean, YouTube-accepted chapter lines, checked against every rule that makes them appear.

Format your chapters

Timestamps can come first (0:00 Intro) or last (Intro 0:00), with or without brackets. Bullets and numbering are stripped.

    How the chapter formatter works

    Paste anything

Notes from your editor, phone, or a comment section — bullets, numbers, parentheses, timestamps at the start or end. Every line is parsed individually.

    Normalized to YouTube's format

Each chapter becomes 0:00 Title, zero-padded to 00:00 for perfect consistency. Unparseable lines are reported as skipped — never silently dropped.

    Rule-checked

Starts at 0:00, at least 3 chapters, ascending order, 10-second minimums — each rule is verified so your chapters actually show up on YouTube.

    Chapter formatter FAQ

What format does YouTube use for chapters?

One line per chapter with the timestamp first, like '0:00 Intro'. The list must start at 0:00, contain at least 3 timestamps in ascending order, and every chapter must be at least 10 seconds long. The formatter normalizes your notes to exactly this format.

What kinds of messy notes can the formatter handle?

Timestamps at the start or the end of the line, times wrapped in brackets or parentheses, and leading bullets ('-', '•', '#') or numbering ('1.', '2.') are all cleaned automatically. Lines it can't parse are listed as skipped so nothing silently disappears.

Why aren't my chapters showing on YouTube?

The most common causes are a list that doesn't start at 0:00, fewer than 3 chapters, or chapters shorter than 10 seconds. The formatter checks all three and reports exactly which rule fails.

    Is the chapter formatter free?

Yes. Every tool on AntigleForge is free and runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or processed on a server.
